Pond dam repair held through spring rains
Our farm pond dam near Yoncalla started washing out on the downhill side after a couple of wet winters, and we were losing ground every season. Deck posts finally stand on solid bank
The bank below our deck posts along the McKenzie near Blue River had eroded enough that one post hung nearly in midair after last winter's high water, with the joists starting to show daylight underneath. Oregon Rock Supply had four tons of riprap ready that same afternoon, and we keyed the first course down into firm ground instead of just stacking it on top, so the current can't work its way underneath again like it did before. Only gripe is a couple pieces so big the excavator had to hand place them one at a time, which ate up most of the afternoon. Deck's solid through this year's high water.
